So fire up the grill, toss together a salad, and raise a glass — summer is here, and it’s tasting amazing!

Garlicky Grilled Shrimp Skewers | Pairing Suggestion: 2024 Golden Hour

This crisp, white wine blend sings with stone fruit notes and bright citrus — the perfect match for juicy, char-grilled shrimp brushed with garlicky marinade. It’s simple, flavorful, and made for summer evenings on the patio.

Shrimp Skewer Recipe:

Ingredients:

  • 1 lb large shrimp, peeled and deveined
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • 3 garlic cloves, minced
  • 1 tbsp lemon juice
  • 1 tsp smoked paprika
  • Salt and pepper, to taste
  • Chopped parsley & lemon wedges, to serve
  • *Optional: add assortment of vegetables to skewer (bell pepper, onion, zucchini, eggplant)

Instructions:

  1. In a bowl, whisk olive oil, garlic, lemon juice, paprika, salt, and pepper.
  2. Toss shrimp in marinade and chill for 15–30 minutes.
  3. Thread shrimp onto skewers. Grill over medium-high heat for 2–3 minutes per side until pink and lightly charred.
  4. Sprinkle with parsley and serve with lemon wedges — and a chilled glass of Golden Hour.

Burger with Caramelized Onions | Pairing Suggestion: Rogue Valley G.S.M or 2024 Gamay Noir

A juicy burger layered with sweet, slow-cooked onions deserves an expressive red wine. Whether you reach for our elegant Barrel Select Exclusive Rogue Valley G.S.M or the fruit-forward 2024 Gamay Noir, this is a pairing built for savoring around the grill.

Burger Recipe:

Ingredients:

  • 1 lb ground beef (80/20)
  • Salt & pepper
  • 1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce (optional, mixed into patties)
  • 1 egg (optional, mixed into patties
  • 1 large yellow onion, thinly sliced
  • 1 tbsp butter + 1 tsp olive oil
  • Burger buns, cheese, and toppings of choice

Instructions:

  1. Form beef into patties with salt, pepper, worcestershire sauce, and one egg (optional).
  2. In a skillet, heat butter and oil. Add onions and cook on low, stirring occasionally for 20–30 minutes until caramelized.
  3. Grill or pan-sear burgers to preferred doneness.
  4. Serve on toasted buns with cheese and a generous spoon of caramelized onions.
  5. Pair with a Gamay Noir for a lighter red or the G.S.M for a deeper, savory experience.

Strawberry Feta Salad | Pairing Suggestion: 2023 Estate Pinot Gris

Our Estate Pinot Gris is light, bright, and brimming with orchard fruit — a gorgeous complement to a summer salad of sweet strawberries, salty feta, and fresh greens. It’s picnic-perfect and endlessly refreshing.

Strawberry Feta Salad Recipe:

Ingredients:

  • 4 cups mixed greens (arugula, spinach, or spring mix)
  • 2 cup fresh strawberries, sliced
  • 3/4 cup crumbled feta
  • 1/2 cup toasted pecans or almonds
  • 2 tbsp chopped fresh basil or mint (optional)

Dressing:

  • 4 tbsp olive oil
  • 2 tbsp balsamic vinegar
  • 2 tsp honey or maple syrup
  • Salt & pepper, to taste

Instructions:

  1. Whisk dressing ingredients in a small bowl.
  2. In a large bowl, toss greens, strawberries, feta, and nuts.
  3. Drizzle with dressing and gently toss again.
  4. Serve immediately with a cool glass of Pinot Gris.
