Spring Wine, the Way We're Actually Enjoying It Right Now

Spring at Sweet Cheeks Winery isn’t just a season – it’s a shift.

The kind where you feel inspired to make last-minute plans and remember how good it feels to be outside with a glass of wine in your hand.

So… here are our favorite ways to enjoy wine in the spring…

Call it a "Snack Board Night" (and keep it easy)

Skip the pressure of hosting a dinner. Grab a bottle (or two) and build a simple snack board. Want to elevate? Ask each person to bring a different “snack board” – think, cheese board, dip board, ultimate dessert board, or french fry board.

Simple Snack Board:

  • Soft cheese + something salty (prosciutto, olives)
  • Fresh strawberries or sliced apples
  • Tomatoes, basil, burrata
  • Crackers or warm baguette

Open a bright white (hello, Dry Riesling) or refreshing Rosé (It isn’t spring without Pinot Noir Rosé).

Put your snack board on a table, or wherever is easy for people to gather.

Let the night go where it goes – no plan required.

Make Your "First Patio" Night A Thing

You know that first evening where it’s just warm enough? The best.

Bring out a bottle, throw on a sweatshirt (or bring a throw blanket), and sit outside longer than you have since last autumn.

Wines we love for this simple spring occasion:

Estate Pinot GrisReserve Pinot Noir

Malbec  |  Rosy Cheeks

Pair Wine With Whatever's Already Happening

Wine doesn’t need a special occasion – it sometimes is the occasion.

Red-Hero

Cooking dinner, trying a new recipe, baking a loaf of bread? Pour a glass.

Friends stopping by “for a minute”? Why not open a bottle to share and catch up?

Watching the sunset? That’s your cue.

Our wines are made to fit into real life, not wait for a perfectly set table.

Everyday occasion wines:

Sauvignon Blanc  |  Luminary Sparkling  |  Gamay Noir

Bring Wine With You, Not Just Out To Dinner

Spring is a movement – picnics, casual eats, backyard hang-outs, book club meet-ups

Be the person who shows up with a bottle already chilled or ready to be opened. It changes everything. Suddenly, it’s not just “hanging out” – it’s a full moment.

Complete your setup with a wine key (if your bottle isn’t a screw top) and whatever wine glass version you like.

Best Spontaneous Wines:

Chardonnay  |  Pinot Noir  |  Vintage Riesling

Try Something New

We all have our go-to. But, spring is the time to branch out.

Spring is a great time to try a new hobby, visit a new place, or read a book from a genre that isn’t your usual one.

So, why not apply this to your go-to wine? Try a new varietal, ask for a recommendation. You just might find your new favorite.

Try Something New Wines:

Grenache  |  Tempranillo

At the end of the day, we love growing grapes. We love making the wine. But the part where our wines make it to your home and become part of your life – that’s our favorite. Wine is meant to bring people together, to be shared.

So, this spring, here is your assignment: Open something. Invite someone over. Slow down and savor the moment.
