Throughout this month, we’ve shared the wines that built Sweet Cheeks Winery – from the earliest plantings on our hillside to the varietals and partnerships that expanded our portfolio. At the heart of it all is a single vision, one that continues to guide us today.

In 2021, we found a new way to share that story by bringing it directly onto our labels.


A View That Started It All

Honoring Our Founder’s Vision

There’s a specific place on our property where everything began.

Standing on the hillside, overlooking the vineyard and the valley beyond, our founder made a pivotal decision: this wasn’t just a place to grow grapes – it was a place meant to be shared.

Rather than building something small and private, he chose to create a winery, inviting others in to experience the land, the view, and the wines that would come from it.

For many years, that story lived in conversations, in memories, and in the people who knew him. But it wasn’t something you could immediately see when you picked up a bottle.

In 2021, we changed that.

Our updated label artwork was designed to bring his story forward by featuring the very view that inspired the winery. It wasn’t about changing who we are, but about making that origin story more visible, so every bottle could carry a piece of it.

Our Vintage tier labels showcase a sweeping panorama of the vineyard and surrounding landscape.

They’re designed to feel expansive – capturing the sense of place that defines Sweet Cheeks and allowing you to take a small piece of that view with you, wherever you open a bottle.

It’s an invitation to experience the winery beyond a visit, to bring the setting into your own moments, wherever they happen.

Estate Tier

Details That Tell a Deeper Story

With our Estate tier, the artwork shifts focus – zooming in to highlight the details of the vineyard itself.

These labels reflect the nuances of our estate: the vines, the land, and the history rooted in each block. They’re a closer look at where our wines begin, and a reminder of the decades of care that go into every vintage.

Each bottle becomes an in-depth expression of our vineyard, grounded in place and shaped over time.

Reserve Tier

Craft, Time, and Intention

Our Reserve tier labels represent the most refined expression of both vineyard and winemaking.

These wines, crafted in small quantities and often aged longer, highlight the artistry of our winemaking team. The label design reflects that intention, pairing the story of the land with the craftsmanship that brings each wine to life.

It’s where vision and technique meet, resulting in wines that are both structured and expressive, and meant to be savored.
