Winemaker Dinners Are Back

February is just around the corner and we are excited to finally host winemaker dinners once again!

We are partnering with Chef Isaiah Martinez of Yardy Eugene to bring our guests a meal they won’t soon forget. Our winemaker, Leo Gabica, and Chef Isaiah have been expertly pairing flavor packed courses with Sweet Cheeks wines.

February | Black History Month

February is also Black History Month, a time when we nationally recognize black stories and perspectives as well as appreciate the significant contributions to society, science, art, culture, music and food to name a few.

Sweet Cheeks Winery is honored to celebrate diversity in all its forms and to partner with Yardy Eugene to bring you a night of incredible Afro-Caribbean food and Sweet Cheeks wine.

With family from Puerto Rico & Grenada, Isaiah is a third generation American. Raised in Crown Heights, New York, Isaiah’s first taste of cooking was in high school, when to get out of algebra he took a culinary track that eventually led him to San Francisco and a bachelor’s degree in hospitality and management from The Art Institute of CA – San Francisco. While studying, he honed modern and classical cooking techniques by working with many notable chefs in San Francisco and Oakland.

With equal enthusiasm, he began researching and traveling to understand regional cooking, a natural segue to Slow Food and farm-to-table cooking. Isaiah came to Eugene to continue collaborating and is inspired by his Afro-Caribbean background. Yardy Eugene was developed in that same spirit.
