Welcome to Sweet Cheeks Winery
Sweet Cheeks Winery began with a vineyard and a dream. Over the years we have grown but our roots remain deep in family and our community.
Our Roots
Our story began in 1978 when owner Dan Smith planted a vineyard on a rolling hillside in Crow, Oregon. After a hard day of work he looked out over the vineyard and noticed the curious shape of the land – and he christened the vineyard Sweet Cheeks. At this point starting a winery was only a dream. He continued to farm the land, supplying Pinot Noir, Pinot Gris, Chardonnay, and Riesling grapes to local wineries. When a building in Junction City came up for demolition in 2003, Dan took a chance and relocated it atop the vineyard. Thanksgiving of 2005 those doors opened as our tasting room and marked the beginning of Sweet Cheeks Winery & Vineyard.
